95 Tesdorpf-Punkte machen deutlich, wie nah man den großen Namen wie Petrus oder Cheval Blanc kommen kann, wenn man über das gleiche Savoir-Faire und Terroir verfügt. Der Clos Fourtet 2021 ist ohne Zweifel einer der besten Weine des Jahrgangs am rechten Gironde-Ufer. 90 % Merlot erhält mit 7 % Cabernet Sauvignon und 3 % Cabernet Franc wohl definierte Tannine und dunkle Aromen. Etwa von Dörrpflaumen, Zartbitterschokolade und frischem Trüffel. Im Hintergrund auch getrocknetes Laub und Zedernholz. Ein Aromaspiel, das an die alten Katakomben Saint-Émilions denken lässt, die auch heute noch als Weinkeller genutzt werden. Am Gaumen ist dieser 1er Grand Cru Classé von einer harmonisch-saftigen Säure geprägt, die dem Wein in Verbindung mit seiner Gerbstoffstruktur noch Potenzial bis 2060 beschert.
