Die Weinberge des Château Grand-Puy Ducasse erstrecken sich über 40 Hektar und verteilen sich auf drei große Parzellen. Die nördlichen Rebflächen liegen in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft zu Mouton-Rothschild und Lafite-Rothschild. Eine Nachbarschaft, die offenbar auf den Wein abfärbt, denn der Grand Vin des Châteaus zeigt eine finessenreiche Aromatik mit einer Nuance von Gewürzen sowie eine schöne Balance.

Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart floral, Brombeeren, schwarze Kirschen, dezente Kräuterwürze. Mittlerer Körper, rote Kirschen, zarte Tannine, gute Frische, mineralisch im Abgang, bietet unkompliziertes Trinkvergnügen.

The 2023 Grand Puy Ducasse has one of the most impressive bouquets encountered from this estate in a number of years: blackberry, cedar and light floral notes, with a hint of pencil shavings in the background. This is Pauillac through and through, with newfound conviction. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, and a touch of dark chocolate and black pepper. There’s much more body and grip compared to previous vintages. Excellent. This may surpass their 2022.
